This is my 50th post (on this blog anyway) and will also be my last post (this year anyway!)
2007 has been one crazy year. Everything that could have happened, happened.. And 2008 should be equally insane. Since I like things quiet and routine I'm not really sure why I'm looking forward to the new year.
I guess, its just the feeling of anticipation and promise that a new year always brings. Whether I'm sitting home relaxing with some white wine or partying up a storm outside, a new year always feels good. Its like the feeling one gets at a good movie just before the credits roll - a sudden thrill and clenching of the stomach muscles and the thought running through your head "This should be good"
Happy New Year!

|Last weekend, we decided to do a movie marathon focussing on only horro movies. Ok, ok we didn't decide any such thing. After scarfing down free drinks and food at a 5 star, we watched The Hills Have Eyes at home. I was the only one cringing with terror but then I was also the only sober person around. But then again, the movie wasn't that scary.. Anyway, then I got the idea of watching all the so-called scary movies that premiered last Friday. So we sat through 1408, I am Legend, 30 Days of Night across 2 days. And except for covering my eyes through most of 1408 (come on it is Stephen King!) I was only marginally terrified. A far cry from when I sat trembling after watching The Ring. So its left me wondering - am I getting braver or are the movies getting less scary? And since I still leave my light on during the night, I think its Hollywood's fault. More gore, less terror; more spills, less thrills; more yawn, less yikes!|
On a different note, despite an obviously aging face and less than supple body, Madhuri Dixit's comeback film Aaja Nachle is still one of the better movies I've seen all year. And when you think I'm talking about the year of Jab We Met and OSO, that's quite good company for a 40 year old Bollywood actress.
